My replacement LinkSys arrived today. After only two calls to support and an hour of listening to things like "type cmd, it's 'c' as in..." and "type ping, it's 'ping' as in ping-pong" the rounter is working. I showed remarkable self-restraint and not once mentioned that I have two engineering degrees and if I learned anything after five years of school it would be how to spell 'ping'. But the router is here and working and I am not even that ticked off that they forgot to load firmware on it before shipping it out. Happy end (I hope).

It's the engineers that need 2 manuals to operate a microwave desinged for a soccer mom

Configuring a router is a lot more intuitive than trying to figure out a bunch of useless buttons on a microwave.
