After another hour of gymnastics involving both computers, LinkSys admitted its failure and agreed to send me a replacement router. All in all, overlooking the fact that the router broke in the first place (but, as Forrest Gump so aptly noted "shit happens"), I am quite pleased with LinkSys. They have very good support, no waiting on the line listening to elevator music, people seemed to know what they were doing, didn't try to make it out like it was my fault somehow, and called me back as promised. Also didn't make any fuss about replacing the box even though I don't have the receipt and wasn't even the one to buy it. I don't have to return this unit until the new one arrives and only have to pay for shipping one way. Worked out a lot better than I expected.

Кстати, пишу уже с нового компа. Замечательно когда можно подключить одновременно все мои игрушки (keyboard, mouse, iPod, memory stick, and the camera). Can't wait for that scanner. And there is still a slot left for... hmmm, a Palm, perhaps? ;-)

something also happend to my Linksys router a few days ago. It allows me on my network (between two comps), but doesn't connect to the internet (right now I am coneccting direct from the modem). Any idea? I know that I have to call them :(

Did you check if Linksys got the proper IP from your ISP? Mine was and I could actually ping some places from the command prompt but in the browser it would only open Google. After three hours with support yahoo.com also managed to open a couple of times. Also, try upgrading the firmware.

Hey, if somebody volunteers I won't say 'no' :) But I am just teasing Lena, she's been forced to listen to Palm vs. PSP argument for a while now. Just adding my 2 cents in :)
