No joking matter
Jan. 10th, 2015 09:12 pmMy dentist is a comedian. I scheduled an emergency appointment with him yesterday because suddenly all my teeth were hurting at once and I felt like my head was going to explode. So he checked me, looked at me thoughtfully and gravely pronounced: "There is this disease called acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis," then he drew me a little illustration accompanied by a rather colorful description. At this point I was obviously in complete panic and then he concluded: "But that's not what you have." I don't want to have to look for a new dentist which is why this one is still in one piece. Plus, whatever rinse he prescribed is actually helping and I feel tons better. I really appreciate a sense of humor in people in general, I just don't want my doctors to have one.
