Baked some traditional English scones on N.'s request.

Came out pretty well, even if I do say so myself. Well, N. said so too.

Excellent looking scones! It's a pity that double cream is so hard to get in this country.

Is there any chance to come across clotted cream? 'Cause otherwise there is almost no point...

You can get anything and everything on amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GQ9YJ0?ie=UTF8&tag=httpwwwstldio-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001GQ9YJ0). Or, for particularly dedicated people, you can make your own out of heavy cream. I don't like clotted cream and wouldn't let my husband eat it either, so it's not an issue. He compromises with butter and jam.

Judging by the fact that I couldn't even find any leftover crumbs this morning, they were good :)

Bah! Don't tell me you employed butter and sugar in making these? Looks like you used white flour too instead of whole wheat. Color me shocked :)

Гм, а в чем проблема с поеданием мужем этого вещества? Оно ж никак не жирнее масла?

I did, I did. Well, I cut sugar in half because otherwise it would be way too sweet. But other than that it's an authentic recipe. Some things are sacred and not to be trifled with :)

BTW, I've been kicking around an idea of home made afternoon tea. Interested?

Yes!

PS. A brownie recipe is sacred! But that didn't stop you from butchering it :)
