Finished the first three books in "Artemis Fowl" series by Eoin Colfer. They were fun. Wish they were around fifteen years ago. But not to worry, since my maturity level is still hovering in the neighborhood of adolescence, I enjoyed the books immensely. Artemis is more fun than Harry Potter, untroubled by most moral issues and with no weight of the world on his shoulders. The plots are not as complex and angst wrought as JKR's books. Artemis doesn't stumble into any mischief by chance, in the manner of the trio. No, he strides into debacles of his own creation with eyes wide open, guns blazing, and mind whirling and comes out of them a winner. With a reluctant help of a few very clever fairies :)
If you are not ashamed to be seen reading kid's books, pick these up. You are almost guaranteed a few hours of childish gleeful fun.
