Girl stuff

Went to Banana Republic today. Picked up few pairs of trousers, size 4, because that's my usual size. Tried them on, asked the fitting room attendant to bring me a size 2. Tried on that. Asked for 0. Got a look of pure loathing from a woman who was complaining outside that her medium sized belt was too small. But, really, is it my fault that some American manufacturers are trying to boost our confidence by labeling something that should be size four as zero? Personally, I find having to try on three pairs of pants before figuring out which one is the right size to be highly annoying. And somebody had missed the memo about platforms going out of style. My legs are normal in length, I shouldn't have to hem every trouser I buy. Really.
