After our visit to China I got a theory that Japanese are descendants of Chinese with OCD, acute perfectionism and just general anal retentiveness who one day decided they were not going to put up with the surrounding disorganized mess any longer, packed up and moved out.

Римма, а вот если у меня дома есть FiOS, и есть VoIP телефон, его можно подключить чтобы он работал как телефон с которого/на который можно позвонить? И что для этого нужно?

i loved you report, just again and again i cannot connect to Chinese art with my soul - it all looks perfect craft, but not art to me... totally different filling from Japanese art - it "talks" to my soul :)

Конечно можно. Два варианта:
1. Верайзон предоставляет FiOS Digital Voice сервис, как часть Triple Play или сам по себе. Если у тебя уже Triple Play, то у тебя есть телефонный сервис, позвони им, тебе скажут твой номер и как подключить телефон.
2. Отдельный сервис, который даст тебе номер и SIP сервер доступ. Что–то типа Vonage, но я не уверена, что они поддерживают вариант с VoIP телефоном вместо адаптера. Можно им позвонить и спросить.

I definitely prefer Japanese culture to Chinese. I appreciate their food, art, the ability to go that one extra step to make something absolutely perfect. I kept stopping myself form making comments like "if we were in Japan this would be better." Japanese seem to approach everything with an idea of making it good, while Chinese stop at making it good enough. And did I mention the food?
