What? Your ire is completely misplaced. Linux is all the rage these days, but not supporting RAID devices is not cool. Moreover, not producing meaningfull error messages is even less cool. At least Windows did that much. The hardware manufacturer is trying to move ahead and not be stuck in the past with old technologies (however frustrating that might be for the consumers), Ubuntu and Fedora should do the same if they want to play with the big boys.
