Getting ready for Japan.
Oct. 14th, 2005 09:37 pmUseful advise: For traveling in Japan, you are advised to bring shoes which are easy to take off and put on and socks without holes in them.
Useful phrases: Modoshite imasu (I keep vomiting) and Geri o shiteimasu (not anything pleasant either ;)
In case of emergency call 110, unless you only speak English, in which case call 03-3501-0110 (Japanese think too well of the memorizing ability of English speaking people)
Words to keep in mind: ika, tako, and uni. If any of them figure in the description of the dish, politely decline.
On language:
Rimma: How is your Japanese, btw?
Lena: better than my Chinese
worse then my italian
Rimma: You don't know any Italian.
Lena: exactly my point
On cleanliness:
Lena: Ok, I'm done with my laundry list
It came out to 23,718 yen
that's 215 bucks
Rimma: Wow!<...> I was doing laundry today, came out to $6.
