Study your geography

I was on a flight to San Jose, CA today and there was a newlywed couple sitting next to me. During boarding they were enjoying some food then there was the usual announcement of "Thank you for using JetBlue for your flight to San Jose, CA, blah, blah, blah..." and the girl goes: "What did he just say!?" To her disbelieving question if she really just heard California the flight attendant replied with: "And where are you going?" Turned out they thought they were going to Costa Rica. Plane had to return to the gate and I ended up with two empty seats next to me. The one by the window was immediately grabbed by a clever middle seat dude from the next row over, but it was still much more comfortable six odd hours. I hope the unfortunate newlyweds actually got to have their honeymoon.

Whoever scanned their boarding passes at the gate was an absolute moron.

You see, they actually bought tickets to San Jose, CA instead of San Jose, Costa Rica :)

Да, народ часто путает эти два города :) Бортпроводники чаще всего используют пример с Сан-Хосе, когда предлагают пассажирам, севшим не в тот самолёт, срочно выйти.
