Есть вопрос к коллективному разуму. Человеку нужно оформить визу в Израиль. Я понимаю, что из вас, скорее всего, никто с такой проблемой не сталкивался, но... На сайте консульства написано, что среди документов для подачи визы нужно предъявить заказанные билеты на самолет. Я предполагала, что сначала получают визу, потом покупают билеты. Это я что-то недопонимаю, или это такой случай, когда common sense isn't? Я точно не хочу сначала билеты покупать, за них деньги не возвращают, а визу могут и не дать, потому как у вопроса и имя, и гражданство довольно подозрительные.

I read the same thing when I was arranging my visa to India. But when I started the visa process it did not include any sort of ticket verification. This might be one of those things unique to India, but I'd say, go ahead with the visa process without tickets and see.
Refundable tickets are never worth it. They are ridiculously expensive.

We are definitely not getting refundable tickets, we are planning to use our frequent flier miles for this.

Why? This is the most reasonable suggestion here. If you're talking about the same person I'm assuming - yes, I would be concerned about not getting visa. Obviously, you would return the tickets the same day his visa is granted.

In 2006 the Israeli consulate in NYC denied me a two-entry visa and I had to cancel my side trip to Petra ;) On the good side, single-entry was issued within an hour for a nominal fee ( $17? )

Actually, I got a response from the consulate stating that having tickets is not a requirement, so that's one problem solved.

Refundable tickets is too much hassle, and there might still be a non-refundable fee associated with them.
