Yesterday's visit to the Apple store was very stimulating. I think I actually fixed my PC (sorry vgramagin).

I specifically asked the guy at the store about upgrading RAM on iMac and his response was: you can upgrade it yourself but opening the slot trips a sensor and that voids the warranty. Glossy screens are a matter of taste I guess.
