Vote early. Vote often. ;-)

I've read that some people spent all the night near polling stations waiting for them to open. Apparently you was one of those "early birds." ;-))

Actually, I am a very irresponsible citizen. I never vote. This year because I know that NY will vote Democtats. Seems like a waste of my efforts to bother. Previously, Election Day was a holiday so I would find something more interesting to do with myself than vote. I am sure one day something important enough will turn up and force me to the polling station. But not yet :)

explain me this

the only people who get a day off on election days are school kids who can't vote :)

Up till this year it was a holiday in my company for NY state. Not anymore, though.

really? I thought only schools were closed ... and only because the old people running the voting centers are afraid of kids in commercial quantities

There is a complicated reason why it used to be a holiday and isn't anymore. Has to do with making sure people who work in different states get the same number of holidays. Except those who live in Washington, DC area. They get one extra holiday every four years. Guess which day? :)
